Murwillumbah, NSW
Winner of two stage design competition

The competition winning scheme involved a substantial new wing at the rear of the existing museum, located in the former Murwillumbah shire office building. The scheme proposed a two level building, partially buried into the sloping site, with a dramatic top-lit retaining wall forming a backdrop to exhibition and display storage areas. A new courtyard, café and vertical circulation zone links the new and old buildings.
